Literally. According to this article about Community Supported Agriculture. It says that less than 10% of farmers nationwide are women. Yet in Oklahoma, there are just as many lady farmers as men!
I'm very interested in learning more about community supported agriculture. During the crop-producing seasons, you pay an upfront fee to a local farm and every week they deliver a half-bushel basket of fresh produce to you.
In Oklahoma the price of trying to eat organic food is completely unreasonable. This option makes it a little better while supporting local farmers at the same time. The only thing this situation is missing is a centralized system of organization to make it easy for consumers to buy.

Introduction
I'm Callie, I am a Professional Writing Major in Oklahoma.
I have always been fascinated with the technologies and innovations scientists and engineers are creating to solve some of our environmental problems. I've seen inventions released recently to mass produce crops without soil for major cities, to turn our growing garbage heaps into energy, and to use hay bales as a superior source of insulation for houses.
It is fascinating to see the different ways we are going to shape our future and imagine the new faces our society will take. I am hoping over the next couple of years to learn enough about sustainability to break into the industry as a journalist. I'd like to join a line of work I feel good about.
